2022 Betfred World Matchplay

As the marquee summer competition on the PDC tour, and part of the hallowed “Triple Crown”, the Betfred World Matchplay is one of the biggest events in professional darts. Hosted at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on all but one occasion since its inception in 1994, the World Matchplay is a relative stalwart of the professional darts circuit, and as such is one of the most sought-after titles around.
Since 2015, the World Matchplay has been won by 6 different players, but it is the legacy of Phil “The Power” Taylor which is still most strongly associated with the competition: the World Matchplay trophy is now named after the 16-time winner.
