The Open Championship
July 10 @ 12:00 am
The Open Championship is the 4th of 4 majors in men’s professional golf. The inaugural Open was held in 1860, making it the oldest tournament in golf. As such, The Open is regarded as one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions, attracting the world’s best players each year for an incredible spectacle of world-class golf.
The Open is under the authority of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A) and is hosted by a different R&A location across the UK each year. It is usually held the day before the third Friday of July each year.
For The Open’s 150th edition, it will return to the Home of Golf – the Old Course at St Andrews – between 10 and 17 July 2022. The United States’ Collin Morikawa will be the defending champion after he won the 2021 edition by 2 strokes ahead of Jordan Spieth.
