National Track Championships 2024 – Saturday Finals at National Cycling Centre

On Saturday, February 24th, 2024, the National Track Championships will take place at the National Cycling Centre. The day will feature exciting races in a variety of events, from sprints to endurance challenges. Spectators can witness thrilling finishes as elite cyclists compete for national titles in both individual and team events.

The morning session will begin with the men’s and women’s 500m time trial. This event will showcase the explosive power of the top track cyclists in the country as they race against the clock for a spot on the podium. Following that is the team sprint event, where teams of two or three riders compete in a fast-paced relay race around the velodrome track.

The afternoon session will kick off with the men’s and women’s scratch races. Riders start together at one point on the track and battle for position throughout multiple laps of racing until one rider crosses the finish line first. Then it’s time for more individual competition with the keirin event – a race featuring multiple riders who must stay behind a motorized pace bike before making their move to get to the front of the pack and take home victory. Finally, it all comes down to an exciting points race where competitors accumulate points by taking laps ahead of their opponents while trying to avoid
